The Directional Method of Color Analysis This method of color analysis has been conceived in 1988 by Patrick and Judith Halpin, founders of First Impressions, to overcome the limits of the seasonal one and to avoid the hazards of free-selection processes. It consists in determining the three color characteristics of the person (light/deep, warm/cool, bright/muted), their sequence of priority, and the strength of each one. The process has the advantage of being precise, flexible and personalized, while being especially logical and easy to understand. It generates 48 possible combinations, which materialize each as a personalized and quite specific color swatch, while the seasonal method used to offer only 4 possibilities at the beginning (12 today).
